These hand controls have been designed so that a paraplegic or a person with limited lower limb function can fly an aeroplane. The control attaches to the co-pilot's left rudder pedal and enables control of the rudder in flight and steering of the aircraft when taxiing.

The bracket on top of the handle is adjustable and allows a pilot to control the rudder and throttle simultaneously. In a cross wind landing this has a distinct advantage. The whole control is adjustable from the rudder pedal allowing the control to be mounted into the most desirable position. The whole assembly can be attached and removed from an aircraft in a matter of minutes.

These controls have been designed to come apart in the centre so that when an able bodied pilot is flying they do not interfere with them controlling the aircraft. The advantage of this, is that the main assembly which is bolted to the rudder pedal does not have be constantly taken on and off. A flying school using these controls would be able to make an aeroplane available to a disabled person without having to compromise an aircraft for their able bodied students.

These controls will fit Piper 140 Cherokees and Piper Warriors and can be modified to fit some other types of aircraft. The design of these controls has been certified by CASA.

Aircraft hand controls are available for sale at $1800.00 AUD including GST and certification. Controls can also be hired (Price negotiated on an individual basis).
