About Para Pilots

Flying the Plane

I have been a paraplegic for over 24 years and a pilot for more than 8 years.

I first flew an aeroplane in 1997 at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne. After that flight I wanted to get my pilot's licence. In September 2001 I gained my private pilot's licence. At present I have about 285 hours of flying experience.

I have put this website together for three reasons.

  1. To let others like myself know that if you want to learn to fly, you can.
  2. To let disabled kids and adults know that they are not limited by their circumstances.
  3. To give people the courage to believe in themselves, no matter what others might say.

It is my wish to see more paraplegics flying and to experience what I do through the joy of flight. The opportunity is there if you want to take it.

Even if you never go through to obtaining a pilot's licence, just having flown an aircraft is an experience you will never forget.
